The first step in our specialised process is to gently strip away built-up old lacquer and wax using mild solvents tailored not to harm the original patina. Next, we steam away white marks and prepare damaged areas for specialised grain filling treatments using tinted waxes to invisibly med scratches, gaps, and imperfections in need of structural stabilisation. Using traditional materials like shellac resin, denatured alcohol, and cotton rag pads N.M. Polisher gets to work through competitive circular motions, multiple micro-thin layers of shellac are applied, allowing natural evaporation between applications. This brings depth, warmth, and nourishment back to dried wooden fibres. As the natural gloss finish deepens, items temporarily become tacky to the touch before curing smooth. With high-quality carnauba wax, we enhance the protective finish and sheen desired from matte to glossy. Using weighted brushes, wax glazes into the pores with friction heat before a final spirit rub with a soft cloth creates an exquisite patina. Our heritage restoration process allows the original beauty of natural wooden grains to re-emerge through the wax enhancements.
